Ichiban Mikoshi Sushi: Reviews & Ratings
Is nestled inside the LOTTE grocery store. After ordering I waited almost 30 mins for my food. Considering that they were barely any customers I don’t understand why it took that long. I ordered the shrimp tempura Spider roll and dancing king While the sushi was delicious the wait was too long but will deff try them again!
This place has the best sushi I've had so far in the Germantown area. It's honestly refreshing to have found a place that has well priced food, that is also stellar. Most sushi places are too expensive, and the rolls are poorly made. This place has incredible food at the right price. No lunch specials, but it's unnecessary. It's inside a grocery store, and they have about three 2-person tables, and four 4-person tables. If you don't have time to wait, they have sushi and poke bowls ready to go. If you like their sushi, you can try their delicious soups at Aery right next to it too! I recommend the Dancing King roll and the Eel Roll. My picture includes a platter I bought for about $50. Left to right was crab monster, shrimp tempura, 2 California rolls, dancing king, and eel rolls.
Had no idea that the best sushi spot would be hidden in a grocery store! I ordered the flying dragon and the dancing king. Both were delicious! Haven’t stopped thinking about this place since I had it. They will definitely be seeing me soon. They have good customer service, the place is clean, and the food is fresh and delicious . What more could you want.
We have tried a number of sushi places in the area and we pretty much only go here now. Since it is in the Lotte food court perhaps their rent is cheaper than full restaurants so they can offer the same quality at a lower price. Since we shop at Lotte anyways it is very convenient for us to stop by here. The rolls we get most frequently are the New York roll, shrimp roll and rainbow roll but pretty much every roll we have tried has been fresh and delicious. Best value sushi we have found so far so highly recommend!
I’ve ordered takeout from this location several times and I would say it’s a slightly above average sushi joint. It seems to me that some days the fish are more fresh than others since one time I ate tuna sashimi that was very fishy, but all the others were fresh. When it comes to sushi, it’s mostly just up to personal preference like whether or not you want to enjoy the simplicity of the fish or have a crafted mixed experience from a sushi roll and you definitely have the choice of either one here. All the specialty rolls I have tried here are decent and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them, but none of them are amazing and they are relatively expensive. My favorite roll is probably the spicy caterpillar since their spicy tuna is really good.
I have been ordering from this place since last year, and the overall quality is so consistent! So Fresh! If you ever need party platters, this is a place to go! They even give out extra when you order platters, they gave us grill salmon collars as mini dish!
Update: I recently moved and I miss this sushi so dearly… We can’t wait to go back there when we get a chance to go up to our old neighborhood. This place is our new favorite!!!!! We were really craving sushi and rolls, so we decided to order a $60 platter (Samurai Party Platter). I looked at the menu and saw that there are 4 white tuna, so we asked if they could substitute with anything. We got other kids friendly stuff (eggs, crabmeat, inarizushi) and our boys loved it. They also gave miso soup and grilled salmon head as an extra service (like yuraku did!!). We were so pleased with this place. Definitely recommend anyone and everyone to try it out! Fresh sushi!!!
Hidden Gem for Sushi Lovers! Tucked away inside an Asian market, this sushi spot is a fantastic find. Whether you're dining in (casual food court setting) or taking out, the quality of the fish is outstanding. As a tuna aficionado, I can confidently say their tuna is always top-notch. Our family has tried a variety of rolls with no complaints, and they're happy to accommodate special orders. A big plus for me is the availability of soy paper as an alternative to seaweed. Highly recommend!
